Bob, 16, is planning to circumnavigate Australia, making him the youngest person ever to do so.
Bob’s flight around Australia is being done to raise awareness on youth suicide prevention.
“It was something that affected my life in a really big way in late 2017, with two very close friends attempting to take their own lives,” Bob said.
“If you go out for a day tell someone when you get back,”

Though the aim for St Leonard’s pupils was to learn about personal safety, Bob said that young people being comfortable about discussing when they don’t feel safe is connected to the same issue.
“Today is not so much talking to the kids about youth suicide prevention, but almost fitting in an underlying message of if you go out for a day tell someone when you get back,” Bob said.
Pilots from the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service were also on hand to teach pupils the importance of feeling safe and letting someone know where you’re going and when you’ll get back.
Bob hopes to begin his journey January 7, taking around 17 days.
