Greater Northern Raiders are already certain to take one of the two spots available, as coaches have started to make a shortlist of talent at the Launceston-based club.
Batsman Jake Williams, legspinner James Curran and allrounder Ollie Wood would be among the strongly favoured candidates.
Ex-Mowbray allrounder Jarrad Freeman and Riverside wicketkeeper Emma Manix-Geeves were both rookie-listed to their respective Hurricanes last season.
The pair, who have played for Australian sides since, are now both in Tasmania Tigers programs 12 months on.
The northern rookies also could be upgraded this season and be eligible to play games for the Hurricanes.
Selection trials for females will be held exclusively on November 24 at the NTCA indoor nets while the Raiders take on Tim Paine’s University in the Cricket Tasmania Premier League encounter.
Hurricanes WBBL coach Salliann Briggs will watch over the trials in Launceston before finalising her selection. Coaching counterpart Adam Griffith is already working with Cricket Tasmania in a selection process that includes Raiders games.
