Police and the Tasmania Fire Service were called to a fire in the toilets at Woolworths at Moonah about 4.30pm on Tuesday.
Detective Senior Constable Martin Rodgers said the fire was extinguished by firefighters and the store was closed for several hours while the smoke was cleared.
“No persons were injured in the fire and the cost of the damage is yet to be assessed,” Sergeant Rodgers said.
He said police arrested three youths near the scene a short time later.
“The youths were interviewed by police and will appear in the Hobart Youth Justice Court at a later date,” Sergeant Rodgers said.
“The youths were aged between 13-14 years old.”
