Culinary delights, birthday festivities and the exciting entertainment on offer at this year’s Taste of Tasmania has been detailed to Northern stallholders at a briefing on Tuesday.

Festival director Brooke Webb went through the event’s logistics and organisation intricacies important to the 35 stallholders from the north of the state.
“If we give them this information it helps them plan so they can have a successful Taste festival,” she said.
Last year a briefing was held in Hobart for all stallholders, but this year a northern briefing was added to the agenda because of the increased presence of producers from the top half of the state.
“We are planning for the 30th birthday of the taste,” Ms Webb said.
A rainbow carpet will be laid on Morrison Street and there will be an overgrown botanical garden at the festival.
Ms Webb set the creative bar high for the festival’s 30th anniversary, encouraging stallholders to follow suit.
The session also covered important details such as when stallholders can enter the site, where to park vehicles and other important operational features.
“They are the things that are of most interest,” Ms Webb said.
More than 220,000 people flocked to the Taste last year.
“We started to change the conversation of the taste last year,” Ms Webb said.
Focusing on revitalising the brand through high-quality entertainment and culinary excellence has injected life back into the event.
New Year’s Eve attendees will be entertained by a 10-piece band led by ARIA winning composer and pianist Barney McAll.
Tex Perkins (The Cruel Sea), Ella Hooper (Killing Heidi), Monique Brumby (TAS), Mojo Juju and Loretta Miller (Jazz Party) will perform alongside the band.
The Taste is the oldest and largest food and wine festival in the nation and it will be held from December 28 to January 2, with the full program to be announced on November 20.
