Having returned from Kadina late last month, Patrick and daughters Hayley (12) and Sophie (nine) will fly to the Victorian state championships this week to continue what has already been a successful year.
Patrick enjoyed a dominant weekend at the South Australian titles, winning every race he entered to finish with 20-inch and 24-inch titles in the 55-year-category, while Hayley and Sarah both enjoyed top-six finishes in their respective finals.
The former Australian number 1 said the weekend had been a good lead-up for the Victorian titles.
“The competition will be a lot tougher this time,” Patrick said.
“There will be a lot more riders there and just making the finals would be an achievement.”
