Harding will continue on with the Bulldogs in 2019 and play a key role in their quest for a fifth premiership in six seasons, while Viney returns after leading the Dogs to glory in 2014-15.
Club president Felicity Viney said Harding – a multiple best and fairest, former skipper and 2017 AFL Tasmania coach of the year – and wife Millie are expecting their first child next year.
“Leigh is a remarkable clubman who has invested an enormous amount of time into his role over the past three years,” Felicity Viney said in a social media statement.
“He has played seven seasons with South Launceston, in between playing nine years at North Launceston and 150 games, making him a 257-senior game player between the two clubs.”
Felicity Viney said the club looks forward to Aaron, a life member and six-time flag winner, regaining the reins.
“I have every confidence that he is the right person to continue our on-field success,” she said. “Aaron is passionate about junior development and is looking forward to working with our current playing group as well as any new faces.”
