The winners of 19 categories at the Launceston Chamber of Commerce Business Awards were announced on the night, highlighting exceptional achievers among the many innovators in attendance.
Chamber chief executive Neil Grose said the awards reflected the changing demands of business success in 2018.
“This year the Chamber celebrated entrepreneurs, redefining each category to reflect the entrepreneurial nature of the Launceston business community,” he said.
“The finalists were whittled down after an exhaustive judging process.
“The winners of each category can rightly claim to be the best of the best.”
Three new categories were added this year: Retail Entrepreneur of the Year, Health Entrepreneur of the Year and Tourism Entrepreneur of the Year.
There was also a special recognition of Ray Mostogl of Bell Bay Aluminium, who was inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Mr Grose said the diversity of winners in the awards was a clear demonstration of Launceston’s vibrant business community.
He added that the record number of nominations this year pointed to the strength of the local economy.
“This amazing night reflects and celebrates the surge in optimism throughout the business community in the north and the entrepreneurs who contribute so much to this city,” he said.
