But FFT chief executive Matt Bulkeley said none of 10 clubs that are set to accept the 27-round fixture have signed to the new three-year licence agreement either.
“There needs to be a line in the sand where we seek commitment from every club, which will be fairly soon and I am just working forward to what that date is,” he said.
“There isn’t a date per se, but I’d think it will be early in November that everyone is on board for next season.”
Rangers have expressed reservations over their NPL playing future that already has led to president Rod Fulton resigning his position over a conflicting view with a number of the club’s board.
The club has resigned to losing brothers Nick and Pat Lanau-Atkinson, and Harry Thannhauser, who have left Tasmania to further their playing ambitions next year.
Bulkeley said the FFT had no clear contingency should Rangers leave the statewide league after six seasons.
“We’d have to have an internal discussion probably at the board level at what we are doing in that situation,” he said. “I don’t think we have a set position on that as such at the moment.”
Bulkeley, who only commenced in the role at the start of September, reiterated plans for the 2019 season that includes promotion and relegation with the northern and southern championship clubs was first communicated two and a half years ago.
“We’re technically waiting on every club to join in the sense that no one has yet signed up,” Bulkeley said.
“As we know, the Rangers have got a few challenges at the moment that we’re working with them on.
“But also a couple of other clubs have also got a few things going on that we’re supporting them as well.”
Northern Rangers had been contacted for comment.
