The inaugural George Town Street Party will be held at Macquarie Street from 11am through until 4pm on Sunday, October 28.
Entertainment will include live music from Adam Page, Heidi Hodge and Vicki Barron, as well as children’s amusements, including laser tag and other activities.
There will also be street performers, flash mob dances, local produce, arts and crafts, and balloon, puppet, and Tas Rock workshops.
The free event follows on from the George Town Council’s successful Dogz Day Out event held at Macquarie Street last month.
Community development officer Rhonda O’Sign said they expected another big turnout this Sunday.
“Given it is a free event, we are expecting lots of families," she said.
“We just want to give people an opportunity to celebrate the George Town community.”
