The wet weather created a problem for Port Sorell, Ulverstone and Turners Beach with all three closing their greens, although they may have acted a little quickly as the weather improved and allowed all other venues to go ahead.

As fate would have it Port Sorell and Ulverstone were drawn to play each other. They will now have to share the points.
Penguin shared the points but won overall by 14 shots over the Devonport Eagles. Wayne Manson, Jake Moate, Harvey Clarke and Bronwyn King set the Two Blues up for the convincing win with their 33-12-shot margin over Ian Moore.
Peter French finished three to the good over Tristan Bakes to give Penguin another two points.
Once again it was Michael Higginson, Paul Harker, Nick Hamilton and Phillip Rockliffe who carried the load for the Eagles with a 25-17-shot defeat of Wayne Willcox.
The Eagles’ other winner was Greg Williamson who defeated David Osborne 22-20.
South Burnie did nothing to cast doubt on their overwhelming premiership favouritism when they won on all rinks by 26 shots over Latrobe, the other team expected to go well this season.
Cameron Griffiths had good support from Nicholas Chilcott, Peter Lockhart and Vaughan Eaves in his 26-16-shot win over the Diehards’ prized recruit Tim Douce.
Ricki Richardson proved too good for Phillip Mundy winning 27-19 and Luke kept the Richardson name up front with a 22-17-shot win over Greg Douce.
To make it a clean sweep for South Cameron Windram backed up by Jacob Brown, Colin Brown and Chris Porter defeated Anthony Johns by three shots.
As predicted Burnie won the majority of the points on offer against Wynyard but the win was a lot closer than expected.
The margin of 22 shots belies the actual position of the game.
It was the vintage Mark Nitz rink with help from Jake Wyllie, John Davis and Patrick Saltmarsh that won the game for the Tigers with their huge 36-13-shot win over David Groenewege.
David Gamble managed to keep his winning run intact albeit by just the one shot with his 24-23-shot win over Peter Symes.
Patrick Smith played a 24-shot draw with John Neal. The Cats’ Grant Crowe called on Peter Ayton, Justin Redman and Trevor Claughton to help him defeat Jeremy Turner 26-24 to give the Cats one rink win plus a draw.
South Burnie continued their winning run in Division 1 with a 14-shot, three-rink defeat of Latrobe.
Last week’s big winner Peter Chipman found the going tougher, going down to Leon Webb 26-13 but Webb’s big win was negated by the Mark Smith, Garry Kingston, Fred McDairmid and Ted Vant rink who showed Selwyn Sherriff’s four a clean pair of heels winning 38-15.
Christopher Sturzaker snuck in by one over Jamie Costello and Geoffrey Todd finished 26-23 in front of Barry Magnus.
Devonport Eagles 76 were no match for Penguin 106.
