Kim Hughes drives down Blessington Road at White Hills three times a day, every day but his journey on Thursday morning left him shaken.
“This car for some reason decided he wanted to be on my side of the road,” Mr Hughes said.
About 7am Mr Hughes saw the car getting closer to the truck and he began yelling “get over, get over”, but the car kept coming towards the log truck.
Tasmania Police Constable David Eaton said the driver of the car was travelling south when he crossed double white lines while navigating a sweeping left-hand bend.
The car hit the right-hand side of the truck and spun down the road, causing another motorists to take evasive action.
After the truck stopped moving, Mr Hughes got out and went straight to the car.

He was asking the driver, who was a Ravenswood man in his 20s, what he was doing when Mr Hughes noticed fire under the bonnet.
“I ran back to the truck and grabbed my fire extinguisher,” he said. The truck driver put out the fire and stayed with the Ravenswood man until emergency services arrived.”
The man was cut free from his car and taken by ambulance to the Launceston General Hospital with suspected leg fractures.
About seven hours after the crash Mr Hughes said he was still shocked by what had happened.
“It is a life changing incident. I’m spooked now driving home,” he said.
Mr Hughes said the truck sustained about $70,000 damage and would be off the road for at least three weeks.
The truck driver called on drivers to do the right thing and be alert at all times.
“It just makes you crabby when things like this happen because you can take someone’s life,” he said.
Constable David Eaton said people need to take care when driving, particularly on wet roads.
