Devonport owners Brett and Ian Collins and Peter Jones paid $10,000 for the former New Zealander after he dead-heated in the St Marys Cup in January.
Four days later, he returned $8000 of his purchase price when he won the Scottsdale Cup.
The Show Cup was his third win for his new owners, taking their total return to $25,000.
And, trainer-driver Todd Rattray is confident there is more to come.
“He’s not up with the best of the best horses but he goes OK,” Rattray said after Full Speed Ahead sat in the death to beat Another Swinger and Scooterwillrev.
“He begins well so we’ll aim him at the standing-starts cups – they’ll be his go.”
Full Speed Ahead rated 2:01.3 for the 2200m which meant that Scooterwillrev would’ve had to go close to the track record to overcome his 30m handicap.
PIPERS RIVER trainer Marc Butler landed a double with recent stable addition Our Boy Johnny and consistent mare Adele Said.
Our Boy Johnny, having only his second start for the stable, was backed from $13 to $5.50 and sat outside the leader before beating favourite Miss Superbia by a neck.
Adele Said ($3.50 to $3.20 fav) worked forward to sit in the death at the 800m before a grinding win over Miss Atomic Betty and Real Diamond.
It was driver Ricky Duggan’s 1599th career victory.
HOLME ON THE BAYOU recorded his eighth career win on protest in the C3/C4 Pace.
Odds-on favourite Courageous Katee was first past the post but drifted up the track in the home straight, prompting Holme On The Bayou’s driver John Walters to fire in an objection.
Stewards found that Holme On The Bayou had been impeded and, with the margin only a short half head, reversed the result.
ALL OVER THE STARS completed a hat-trick with a comfortable 14m win in the Trotters Discretionary.
The gelding started his winning run in Hobart on September 16 when trained by Ken Rattray.
He was transferred to the Rohan Hillier stable after Rattray was disqualified and won again in Hobart last week before coming off 20m on Friday night to beat gallant backmarker Ten Caisses (40m) and Tuhimata Lass.
All Over The Stars has now four races in total since coming to Tasmania, joining Ten Caisses as the most successful horse since trotting was reintroduced in July.
MORNINGS maintained her unbeaten Tasmanian record with a fifth straight win in the 3YO/C0 Pace to bring up a double for Ben and Mark Yole.
