Set in the historic homestead’s gardens, the inaugural event will feature plenty of cheesy treats as well as a performance from the Launceston Youth and Community Orchestra.
Franklin House volunteer Julie Dineen said organisers wanted to put a new spin on the traditional high tea.
In other news:
“We wanted to do something a little bit different, because we host so many high tea events,” she said.
“There will be many different cheeses, served in a number of different, more elaborate ways.
“All funds raised will go directly towards the upkeep of the house, which is ongoing.”
A range of finger food including pan fried brie wrapped in prosciutto, cheese straws, bacon cheese balls, mini cheese quiches, cheese puffs and cheese vol au vents will be served on the day, along with wine.
The High Cheese will take place from 4pm to 6pm.
