The event is being held by a number of charities as part of Anti Poverty Week.
St Vincent de Paul Society’s Tasmania chief executive Lara Alexander said poverty is not a choice.
“Our volunteer members are assisting sometimes, a third or a fourth generation of families that have been accessing our services for emergency assistance,” she said.
The event starts at 11am.
