Northern Midlands councillor Leisa Gordon had a double-sided sign placed at a property between Ross and Campbell Town.
On Monday, Cr Gordon discovered that her name and photo on both sides had been painted over, leaving only the word “vote”.
Cr Gordon said the discovery was “quite off-putting”, and has heard of other instances around the region too.
Northern Midlands Mayor David Downie said this was not the first instance of sign tampering he had been made aware of.
“In this election there has been a number of cases where this has happened,” he said.
“Which is unfortunate, and disappointing.
“These vandals are interfering with the democratic process which is fundamental to our communities.
“It should be looked down on.”
