Tasmania crashed to its heaviest loss of the under 17 National Championships on Monday in its final match ahead of the competition’s semi-finals.

Tasmania were dismissed for 102 in 27.1 overs at Ken Mackay Oval at Oxenham Park chasing Western Australia’s 227.
Nicholas Davis, batting at number eight, was Tasmania’s best with the bat with 23 from 36 balls, while another four batsmen were able to get into double figures.
With the ball, Tasmania’s best was William Collins with 3-30 from 10 overs, while Tom Willoughby also collected three victims, finishing with 3-52 from his 10 overs.
He and his mates with the Kookaburra could not contain Western Australia’s Jayden Goodwin, who made 65 from 100 balls, while Alexander Ludik provided some late punishment with 32 from 12 balls.
The result, which reversed Western Australia’s 15-run loss earlier in the tournament, took Tasmania’s record to 3-3 for the championships, which are being held in Queensland.
The competition will reach the semi-final stage on Wednesday, with its finishing positions to be decided on Thursday. Tasmania’s fixture for its match on Wednesday match were not known late on Monday night.
