Bracknell Hall Committee member, and current Meander Valley councillor, Ian McKenzie said it was a good outcome.
“Considering we had fairly short notice, it was good. And they were quite supportive of the actual proposal,” he said. “But, nothing is guaranteed though, it has to go back to the council. The community were certainly happy with what we put forward though.”
The committee is proposing to join the town’s hall with the neighbouring Bracknell Boys and Girls Club.
“We’d then move the stage so that it’s actually faced into the boys and girls club so the space could become two areas; one for the gym and one for the hall function space,” he said.
The council has budgeted $430,000 for the upgrades, which are required because the floor is unsafe in some areas.
