Meter Readers
WE are encouraged to put solar panels on and thereby cut our power usage from Aurora and even put power back into the grid so the company can benefit from our outlay. But, this all becomes meaningless if the meter readers don't come and read the meter.

The last two quarters we have stayed home and kept our dog locked in the house for days on end to allow the meter reader access, but no another estimated bill requesting more money than it should and all the while they have sold on our excess power at three-times the rate they paid for it.
It's not good enough. You can't have it both ways Aurora.

Public Nursing
SUPPORTED by past governments, a true example of an excellent low cost model public nursing home rehabilitation centre, which existed 20 years ago, was closed down along with many others.
The following full-time health professionals on site, three doctors, a good ratio of qualified nurses to patients, nursing school, five physiotherapists, five occupational therapists, pharmacy, one speech therapist for stroke patients, one podiatrist, visiting dentist, infection control cleaners, full operational kitchen, good fresh food, transport for patients for speciality appointments, a bus pickup at rail station for 15 volunteers, patient outings and lovely grounds.
Closed down so their cronies can profiteer abusive power, backward and negligent to a shocking degree.
William Ovenell, Grindelwald.
Driver's Synopsis
I DARE driving four days a week to my job as a nurse and my drive is about 52 kilometres and it is a nightmare.
I get aggressive drivers, high-beam headlights and absolute anarchy on the road to my job. The worst section of my trek is the last bid entering Launceston as I approach the road leading off to the LGH.
High-speed drivers so angry, so on my tail that I almost want to stop and pull over.
By the time I get to my work place, I almost need a sedative, so I have a strong coffee just to calm my nerves.
Then I need to do it all over to get back home. What is up with you all?
If you crash, you will just end up in hospital or kissing the gates of heaven.
Please slow down in every way possible – rather get to the place you wish to go because you might not get there at all.
Tailgating will not make me go faster because I am just following the rules of the speed limit, and if bad weather, I will be more careful.
You might wish to do 120km/h to 140km/h on the highway, but I cannot afford the fine and I do not want my time here to be determined by an idiotic, angry, irresponsible person that has never met me.
Felicity O'Neill, Deloraine.
Shorter Working Week
WE need a shorter working week so that Australia can have full employment.
Forget about wage increases for a while.
If everybody has a job, less money can be spent on Centrelink benefits, job active providers and so called not-for-profit organisations that make a fortune out of people being poor.
