Bullock, who has won 10 of the past 11 Tasmanian training premierships, has enjoyed many successful nights in his career but had never experienced a haul of seven.
“I’ve had any number of trebles over the years and my fair share of nights when I’ve trained four winners and then the odd five thrown in but never six or more,” he said.
“To win seven races was something special that’s for sure.
“I was confident in the lead-up to the meeting that it was going to be a good night as I had a number of dogs dropping back from top grade races to grade five and they were drawn where they wanted to be.
“But not for a minute did I think seven winners were realistically on the cards.”
Bullock’s winners included $41 chance Gold Drift in the third race.
“I hadn’t factored in Gold Drift as a winning hope and it turned out to be the first leg of a treble for one of my most loyal owners in Paul Turtle which was very satisfying,” the trainer said.
Turtle also won with Whoop Bang and Cashmeera.
Owner-breeder Karlene Cuthbertson also played her part, chiming in with her litter-mates Millie Magna and Willie Win.
“Millie Magna has been working up to a win and Willie Win looked a good thing after running third in an Invitation in Launceston,” Bullock said.
Bullock has a good chance of continuing his winning run in Launceston on Monday night. Posh Amber looks hard to beat in race 5 and he could snare the quinella with Benky Bomber and Crazy Wolf in race 9.
