Ms Brooks spent 12 months as general manager before resigning in August to take up a senior position in the aged care sector.
During her time with council she spearheaded a range of projects, including the Windmill Point recreation redevelopment, skate park youth engagement, all access toilet facilities across the municipal area, and the completion of upgrades to council chambers.
Ms Brooks said she was running for council so she could continue working on the “exciting projects and improved governance changes which were implemented during my tenure”.
“I have strong project management and town planning skills, as well as a motivated ‘get stuff done’ approach to my work,” she said.
“I believe in being part of a team that works in a collaborative manner, and supports the work of council staff.”
