Mr Mansell vanished after allegedly slipping at Slamon Rocks and falling into the water while fishing with his friend Joshua Kennedy in 2015.
But the version of events Mr Kennedy reported to police came into question when the inquest began in March this year.
As a result the inquest was put on hold so police could reinvestigate the case.
The inquest recommenced on Monday, but the proceedings haltered on Tuesday after Aboriginal Community Legal Service lawyer Ben Ashman told the inquest he had a conflict of interest and was unable to represent his client Mr Kennedy.
On Wednesday, Coroner Olivia McTaggart was forced to adjourn the inquest to ensure Mr Kennedy’s new lawyer could be present for the proceedings.
The inquest is due to recommence on November 9 and then from February 12 to 13.
