On Thursday students will put on a fundraising gig at St Ailbes Hall.
Event organiser Amy King said the gig, called Doing it for the Wifi, aimed to raise funds to purchase and update equipment music and sound production equipment at TasTAFE’s Alanvale campus.
“We have this gig each year,” Ms King said.
“We have a series of fundraising gigs, and this is our biggest one.
“It helps for getting equipment and the things we need to make studying here the best experience possible,” she said.
Ms King said the school’s music students would be performing on the night, with the sound students running the gig.
The students have also received help from Launceston industry professionals, such as Simon Widdowson from Sound House.
Ms King urged for the Launceston community to come and check out the show.
“Please come and support us, we’d be very grateful,” she said.
The event will take place on Thursday, September 27 at St Ailbes Hall, Launceston.
Doors open at 6.45pm. Tickets are $5 and available on the door.
