Grade 3 student Misgana Barrat made the first discovery on Wednesday, finding a door discretely tucked behind an air conditioner unit in the school’s playground.
As rumours started to circulate there was a second door to be found, it was grade 3 student Annie Howard who made the discovery the following day.
In what is the first known case of a Launceston tiny door being located inside of a building, the door was found next to a cupboard under a stairwell.
With students often comparing the cupboard to something out of Harry Potter, teacher Eddie Barnes said it was the perfect location for a mystery door.
“There is a real sense of magic at the school at the moment,” he said.
“The kids have been so excited by the whole experience. We had read about the tiny doors in the news, and for young kids I think it is something really exciting for them.”
The works of an anonymous artist who works under the pseudonym Lord Scabar, the tiny doors have captured the hearts of the community since they first started appearing earlier this month.
Mr Barnes said the school was happy to encourage anything that captured the imagination of young minds.
“Everyone from prep through to our grade 6 students have just been enthralled by the doors,” he said.
“We are encouraging them to keep an open mind about what it all could mean.
“I think it is more fun to keep the mystery alive.”
