Ms Stojansek said the time had come for a change.
“As alderman, I have been actively involved in improving the liveability of the northern suburbs, making Launceston a more pedestrian and bike friendly city, encouraging community activities and events, and ensuring Launceston is a safe and wonderful place for our children to learn and grow,” she said.
“I would like to contribute more and feel the role of deputy mayor would provide a good platform for that participation.”
Ms Stojansek has been an alderman for the past three years and is a business owner with more 20 years senior management experience.
She said the next four years would be “critical” for Launceston.
“I believe that we need a cohesive, competent local government that will work together to achieve the best outcomes for our wonderful city,” she said.
“My skills, experience, ideas and vision for the city will continue to benefit the Launceston community.
“I am proud of what the current alderman have achieved and I’ll continue to work towards a culture of collegial, respectful, collaborative government.”
