Three years since the Bulldogs won the senior and reserves premierships and finished under-19s runners-up, they’re back in all three grand finals.
The club has lost just nine matches across senior, reserve and under-18 level this season and Viney has her fingers crossed that statistic will remain in single figures.
“It’s a club administrator’s dream to have three teams playing off in the grand final,” Viney said.
“I really have to credit the coaching department that’ve put in an enormous amount of work this year in getting these three teams to the finals and ultimately the grand final.
“And no club would be able to be successful on or off the field without volunteers, and we have an enormous amount of work that’s invested by our volunteers.”
The Bulldogs have enjoyed a hugely successful five years since joining the NTFA in 2014.
The club appeared in turmoil in 2013 after missing out on a TSL licence in the same year it won the premiership, but has established itself as a powerhouse of the competition courtesy of three senior flags and three reserves flags.
Viney said the club’s junior development program had been a huge factor in its continued success in 2018.
“It was quite a difficult time then, but our club has gone from strength to strength,” Viney said.
“In our senior team on Saturday there’s only 12 players that formed part of last year’s premiership side, so from our perspective it’s a new-look team and there’s so much youth in that team.
“There’s been 39 different faces through the senior team this year so it’s been a great opportunity for (coach Leigh Harding) to give some of the younger guys senior experience.”
