Local artists created original works for the exhibition, which will be for sale until Sunday September 23.
Money raised will go towards the ongoing conservation of the church and 173-year-old cemetery, as the St Matthias’ Church committee have already paid their share of the redress scheme to survivors of sexual abuse within the Anglican dioceses.
However, committee members Jenny and George Chandler said they encouraged churches who were finding it difficult to come up with their own funds to get in contact.
“We fully support the redress scheme, to help these people get a bit of their faith in humanity back,” Mr Chandler said.
“We’re very happy to help any church who is struggling to raise the money,” Mrs Chandler said.
A function for the exhibition will be held on Friday September 21 from 6.30pm until 8.30pm, $20 including a drink and nibbles.
