A Woolworths customer found a needle in a punnet of strawberries purchased from a Tasmanian store on Sunday.
Tasmania Police collected the contaminated strawberries from the Rosny Park supermarket.
Police said it was unknown if the alleged contamination was related to the incident in Queensland or a copycat.
The strawberries are being forensically examined.
In the past week, needles and pins have been found in six brands of berries across the country.
States and territories are providing Queensland authorities with information to assist with their ongoing investigation.
The Queensland government has offered a $100,000 reward for information that leads to the capture of the culprit or culprits
