Van Stralen will create a body of work for the residency, as well as mentor young women along with winery Jansz Tasmania’s female vineyard manager, winemaker, and wine room manager, and state government minister Sarah Courtney.
School students from Port Dalrymple, Lilydale and Scottsdale will learn about art from Van Stralen, create their own works, and hear from the female leaders in panel discussions, over October and November.
The residency was facilitated by the University of Tasmania, and both Van Stralen’s and the students’ work will be exhibited at the Academy Gallery, Inversek, after the program is over.
