Women’s 5K organiser Laura Wilson said more than 1800 people participated in the Cancer Council Tasmania event.
“Numbers were up a bit on last year, which is great,” she said.
“It seems to keep growing in momentum, attendance, and in the passion that everyone has.”
Ms Wilson said the run raised awareness, encouraged people to engage in a healthy lifestyle, and raised vital funds.
Cancer Council Tasmania chief executive Penny Egan said she was confident the event would reach the goal of raising more than $60,000.
“We have our cancer support centre in Launceston, and from that centre now we’re providing a lot of different complementary therapies,” she said.
“All those funds help ensure we can sustain and grow the programs for people who are impacted by cancer.”
Female place runners were Summer Dingemanse coming first, Abbie Butler second, and Rose Dingemanse third.
Male place runners were William Richards first, Ben Adams second, and Luke McKenzie third.
