Society vice-president Norma Purton said this year the floral art section had grown.
“People are becoming more interested,” she said.
“Floral art died off for a number of years, but we have a member who is heading the group and encouraging a lot of people to get involved.”
She said there were some fantastic bowls of bulbs on display, alongside specialist gardeners selling their wares.
“The cacti is something fairly new [to the show], and that’s making a resurgence,” she said.
“Younger people are interested in cacti these days.”
Ms Purton said doors first opened at 2pm on Saturday, with crowds waiting outside to get in.
“People just surged in and headed for the plant stalls, then checked out the displays,” she said.
Ms Purton said several hundred people attended this year’s show.
