Riverside Olympic captain Taylor Neilson and Launceston United prodigy Emily Heazlewood claimed best and fairest honours at the Northern Championship awards night.

Neilson was rewarded for powering the club to the league title with the George Dale Medal which he confirmed with a best-on-ground performance on the final day of the season to total 26 votes, one ahead of Devonport's golden boot winner Connor Lizotte.
It was back-to-back best and fairest medals for United's talented 17-year-old Heazlewood. The former Mini Matilda compiled another dominant year to win by six votes from Peta Antypas of Riverside, and also took out the golden boot award.
Coaches of the year were the championship-winning pair of Lynden Prince (Riverside men) and Rod Fulton (Northern Rangers women).
Riverside’s Rhys Kinslow won the golden boot in Championship 1, while Somerset’s Winston Ilyas-Bisset claimed the best and fairest award by two votes.
Launceston City's Maxwell Bywaters claimed the under-18 best and fairest by a single vote from Devonport's golden boot winner Addison Tu and Riverside’s Kane De Haan. The referee awards went to Stewart Reid and Ellie Mathews.
