The rising North-West cyclist Louw was selected alongside Victorian rival Sarah Gigante to represent Australia in the under 19 division for the time trial on September 24 and road race on September 27.
Louw said she was looking forward to the travel over to Austria and the opportunity to compete with the world’s most talented under 19 cyclists.
“Apart from the New Zealand girls that I raced against at the Oceania Championships, I haven’t raced against the other girls, so it will be completely different,” Louw said.
“I think I need to go into the racing with an open mind to try and be ready for every situation the race could throw at me.”
Louw said she had studied the tracks online and believed she would be comfortable with the terrain,
“I have been given the course details from over there in Austria, so I have had a look at that.
“You can also ride the course online with an app called Zwift and have been trying to familiarise myself with the course.”
Louw will leave for Austria on Wednesday after competing in the NRS’ Amy’s Otway Tour event this weekend and said she was looking for more form ahead of the trip.
“I think racing in Victoria is important to get some racing in the legs because there are not many opportunities to racing in quality events in Tassie this time of year.”
