Police and emergency services responded to a report of a pedestrian struck by a car at the intersection of St John Street and Elizabeth streets in Launceston around 3.50pm on Wednesday.
Sergeant Terry Reaney said police believed the woman was crossing Elizabeth Street at the lights on the western side of St John Street towards Prince’s Park when she was struck by the car.
Sergeant Reaney said these initial reports indicated the pedestrian may have been bleeding from the ear.
After attending the scene however, he said the injuries only appeared to be minor.
The pedestrian was taken to Launceston General Hospital for assessment.
