Launceston Church Grammar School will host the 42 members of the National Boys Choir of Australia later this month for a community concert and workshops with students.
Lily Case and Darcy Williams, both school captains and members of the junior campus’ Broadland Voices choir, are thrilled by the opportunities the visit will provide.
“It’ll be cool to have new people come down,” Darcy said.
Junior music and choral director Sue Patterson hoped the event would spur enough interest to kick off their own standalone junior boys choir.
“We have half a dozen boys in our current Broadland Voices,” she said.
“It’ll be great to kick that off once we can get our students in to see the concert.”
The community concert will be held on Monday, September 24 from 6.30pm.
Tickets are available from the school’s website.
The Examiner will introduce a local news subscription package for online readers from September 18. Find out more here.
