Mr Anderson-Brettner, 24, of Launceston, went missing on August 15.
Tasmania Police said the Coroner had released the remains to the family.
“The circumstances of Jake’s death were traumatic and our thoughts and condolences are with his family and loved ones at this difficult time,” Detective acting Inspector Craig Fox said.
He said police were continuing investigations.
“The investigation does have links interstate and Tasmania Police will continue to engage with other state police jurisdictions as part of our investigation,” Detective acting Inspector Fox said.
Jack Harrison Sadler, 26, of Riverside, was charged with murder.
He did not enter a plea when he appeared in the Launceston Magistrates Court on August 22.
He was remanded to reappear on September 11.
Gemma Clark, 25, of Riverside, pleaded not guilty to a charge of being an accessory after the fact.
She was committed to the Supreme Court for a directions hearing on October 15.
