Wynyard ruckman Sam Douglas has cemented his standing as one of the premier players in Tasmania after taking out his third NWFL Darrel Baldock Medal on Sunday.

The 25-year-old, who went into the event as the favourite, blew away a quality field to finish on 31 votes, 12 clear of teammate Jacob Hamill, with Burnie's Bailey Boag in third on 16 votes.
Douglas’ success comes on top of his Baldock Medal wins in 2012 and 2014.
In other major player awards handed out on the day, Burnie’s Jack McCulloch took out the best first year player trophy, Circular Head’s Josh Gale got the nod for the most improved player, Wynyard’s James Allen received the Roxley Snare Medal as the reserves best and fairest, and Latrobe’s Will Shearer triumphed in the Bill Fielding Medal for the under 18s best and fairest.
NWFL president Andrew Richardson and Latrobe champion Josh Holland were also inducted into the league’s hall of fame.
