The NWFA premiership favourite Forth stunned Wesley Vale with a scintillating first half of football to set up their third title in four years by a massive 125 points, at Ulverstone, on Saturday.

Although the first nine minutes of the season finale was a tentative start for both teams, and scoring restricted to a goal each, from Forth’s full forward Nick Veal and the Vale’s Liam Rockliff, the Magpies began to take the game on with the tenacity and confidence of a team football on a mission.
Veal’s second goal soon afterwards came from the lift in the team’s momentum.
Forth’s 34-point lead blew out to 81 at the main break, as Wesley Vale was left nonplussed by the pressure Forth put on their players.
And as if to add insult to injury Matthew Zerna goaled on the half-time siren to complement a 10-goal to two second quarter.
Then just to show there was more to come, Chris Temby and the Symmons brothers, Wade and Claye, put a stranglehold on the match with goals early in the third quarter as Forth continued to extend its lead and win 24.14 (158) to 4.9 (33).
Forth reserve’s team made it a memorable day for the club by also overwhelming Wesley Vale, winning their grand final 24.13 (157) to 10.6 (66).
