On Friday 48-year-old Adrian Tudor of Trevallyn was killed in a two-car-crash in central Launceston. 

Police will allege a 22-year-old male driver, on a disqualified license, ran a red light at an estimated speed of 100km/h, before crashing into Mr Tudor’s station wagon. 

Last Sunday, 55-year-old East Devonport man Gavin Barber was killed in a single motorcycle crash at Lower Barrington.

Just 72 hours earlier on Friday, a 56-year-old North-West man was killed when his car collided with a truck on Frankford Road at Exeter.

The statewide road toll for 2018 now stands at 23, compared to 22 at the same time last year. 

RSAC chairman Garry Bailey urged every Tasmanian to recognise the dangers and responsibilities that come with driving. 

“Sadly it often takes tragedies, such as the three recent deaths on northern roads, to remind us to exercise care, caution and consideration on our roads,” he said.

“No one should have to experience what the families of the three latest crash victims have had to go through.

“The impact of these crashes reverberate not just through these families but across the community – relatives, friends and workmates are all affected.”

The death of Adrian Tudor sent a shockwave throughout Northern Tasmania.

A father of two and a well respected cricket player, tributes to Mr Tudor and his family continue to be shared. 

Hadspen Cricket Club president Corey Martin said the world was a “poorer place in Tudes’ absence”. 

“The circumstances of this tragic event have left all Chieftains feeling his family's unimaginable sorrow,” he said.

“He was a well respected Hadspen player who started his journey with us back in the early 1990s, and after going on to play at other clubs he returned in the mid 2000s to roll his arms over once again.

“Adrian was a likeable and well respected member who will be sorely missed by so many that had the pleasure of forming an ever-lasting friendship with him.”
