RSL Tasmania will redevelop a shack at Dago Point, which was identified as an ideal location for current and ex-servicemen and woman who have served in any conflict or war zone past the Vietnam War.
The state government has given the project $100,000, to assist with the restructure and renovation of the shack.
“We’re committed to improving the lives of Tasmanians and this shack will make a real difference for veterans and their families,” Veterans’ Affairs Minister Guy Barnett said.
The shack, situated on Crown Land, is owned by the Department of Primary Industries and Parks. It was originally used by department staff.
