The Bureau of Meteorology said the wind would shift northwesterly on Saturday, and would freshen during the evening ahead of an approaching cold front.
There would be showers through the north, west, and parts of the south-east.
Frost was expected in parts of the Midlands on Saturday morning.
Launceston on Saturday was expected to reach a maximum of 14 degrees with an 80 per cent chance of rain.
Sunday would be a maximum of 17 with a 40 per cent chance of rain in Launceston.
Showers were expected statewide on Sunday morning ahead of a front crossing the state.
