Kate Sims from the Tim Blair Run For Kids Foundation said he was currently recovering in the Launceston General Hospital and being checked out by doctors.
He was due to run from Campbell Town to Devonport in 20-hours, his biggest run yet.
She said the cyclists were still going ahead with their ride and some schools would still meet at Pet Barn in Devonport to run the last leg.
“He is very disappointed obviously but it does not change anything. It is just a bump in the road and it is the first run he hasn’t finished,” Ms Sims said.
“He normally just pushed on through but health was a priority.”
She said Tim would still want everyone to do it as it was about raising awareness and in memory of 12-year-old Devonport cancer victim Zac Scallese.
