“There were a couple of minor incidents over the course of the night, and we were pretty busy in the town after the event, but the crowds at the event were very well behaved.”
More than 40 alcohol-related infringements were issued on Saturday night following the event, and one person was arrested.
Inspector Johnston said prior to the event on Friday, a few people were caught drink or drug driving on their way to the East Coast.

I was so proud of the people that have been here, because of the respect that they’ve shown.
- Break O'Day mayor Mick Tucker
Break O’Day mayor Mick Tucker said he was blown away by how respectful visitors to the area had been.
“It’s obvious the message that we put out about respect has been really, really taken onboard by not only the people within the community, but the people from afar,” he said.
“I drove around the streets [Sunday] morning when I came to work, and I was so proud of the people that have been here, because of the respect that they’ve shown.”
Cr Tucker said be believed this proved that people do care about communities and the environment.
“My message all the way along through this, because I’ve lived and breathed this as well, is respect our community, respect our people who live here,” he said.
“I’m just going to say a big thank you to all of them, because they have.”
Cr Tucker estimated about 15,000 people had left the town after the concert ended at 10pm, leaving a steady stream of people coming through St Helens to eat, drink, and relax on Sunday after a big night.
“Bicheno was packed, Swansea was packed, Bridport was packed,” he said.
