The Minister for Energy, Guy Barnett, said the project was progressing well with construction being undertaken by Tasmanian group Hazell Bros.
Information sessions have been arranged to highlight opportunities for local business to become involved.
A local information centre has also been set up in Bothwell to handle any community enquiries about the project.
The construction phase is expected to employ 150 people, with 10 full-time jobs once the farm is completed.
When operational, the farm is expected to generate 144 megawatts of electricity – enough to power 60,000 homes.
