Police put the call out last week for information about a Mazda they believed could be linked to the alleged murder of Jake Anderson-Brettner, who disappeared from Riverside on Wednesday, August 15.
During a search of the Mazda on Monday, Victorian police found a “significant number of pills”, believed to be ecstasy.
The home of a 57-year-old Victorian woman was also searched and she is now assisting police with their inquiries.
Local detectives continue to investigate Mr Anderson-Brettner’s alleged murder, after a torso was found on the side of the Tasman Highway last Sunday.
Police and SES remained at the tip at Mowbray on Monday, where it is believed the rest of his remains may be.
Two people have been charged in relation to the case.
Jack Harrison Sadler, 26, of Riverside, was charged with murder.
He did not enter a plea when he appeared in the Launceston Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning and was remanded to reappear on September 11.
Gemma Clark, 25, of Riverside, pleaded not guilty to a charge of being an accessory after the fact.
She did not apply for bail and was committed to the Supreme Court for a directions hearing on October 15.
