The turnaround of fortunes late in the game also delivered the Launceston club a record tenth title.
Cavaliers have appeared in all 22 finals series since their formation.
Coach Nicole Williams praised her side for standing up tall against the burden of successes from the past.
“We knew the pressure coming in,” Williams said.
“But we also kind of treated it as a normal game.
“We made it all about us and forgot everything else.
“It was our game, our moment and our win, so we were really pleased.”
Cavaliers trailed Cripps Waratah all game on Saturday until only hitting the front for the first time with just under two minutes left.
Cripps had led by as much as 10 goals late in the third term until four consecutive goals to finish the quarter put Cavs back in the game.
The coach had a simple message to her players to free up their game.
“In the middle of our huddle at three-quarter time, I had said to them no matter what happens, as long as you don’t give up, we are winners,” Williams said.
“To come back from a 10-goal deficit, I can’t believe we were able to do it.
“But we just kept pushing, pushing and pushing and we had that never give-up attitude when it counted most.”
Cavaliers turned the game on its head when the defence held up and every Cripps’ attacking foray seemed to be intercepted.
Even goals from Cripps that dropped in the first three quarters were blocked before they got the shot off.
“We were able to put the pressure on when it counted,” Williams said.
“The big thing for us this year has been getting turnovers, but then using it.
“The stats from the last quarter showed that we outscored them 15-8.
“So we really used that ball, but I am so proud of the girls for creating the pressure and then backing it up.”
