Andrew John Paul was trading at AAA Roofing.
Consumer Affairs and Fair Trading director Andrew Goldsworthy said a number of complaints had been received.
“Mr Paul is not licensed to undertake roof plumbing work in Tasmania,” Mr Goldsworthy said.
“Consumer, Building and Occupational Services has attempted to resolve the complaints for consumers under the Australian Consumer Law, but has not been successful in contacting Mr Paul.”
Further investigations into the matter will continue, the director said.
“It is important that Tasmanians wanting to undertake building or plumbing work engage tradespersons who are appropriately licensed,” Mr Goldsworthy said.
“To check if a licence is required for the type of work, or whether a tradesperson is licensed, consumers can visit the CBOS website at www.cbos.tas.gov.au.”
Mr Goldsworthy said a public notice had been issued because of financial loss suffered and detriment caused by Mr Paul’s actions.
