Police have charged a man with murdering Jake Anderson-Brettner.
The 24-year-old disappeared from Riverside last Wednesday and the missing person investigation was upgraded to murder after his torso was found near Myrtle Park on the Tasman Highway.
A 26-year-old Launceston man was charged on Tuesday afternoon.
A 25-year-old woman was charged with being an accessory after the fact.
Both accused were remanded to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court on Wednesday morning.
Detective acting Inspector Craig Fox said police were continuing to search multiple sites across Launceston as part of the investigation.
“Charging two people in relation to the murder of Jake is a significant development in the police investigation and the result of some excellent police work aided by public assistance,” he said.
