The man, from Newnham, was clocked travelling 135km/h in a 110km/h zone.
He returned a blood alcohol reading of 0.175.
This is three times the legal limit for those holding a full Tasmanian driver’s licence.
Provisional drivers are not allowed any alcohol in their system.
The man has been disqualified from driving for a period of 12 months.
