The proposal, from Red Brick Road CellarDoor, CiderWorks and Hells Gates Distillery, plan to produce cider and gin at the site.
The business will operate from an existing building, formerly used for car restoration, along side the Meander River at Deloraine.
“The CellarDoor will take in beautiful views of the Meander River and its spectacular river banks. Ideal for locals and tourists alike and is a short five minute stroll from the Caravan Park and only [a] ten minute stroll from Deloraine’s Main Street,” the development application said.
It said the CellarDoor would be a tourism and experience-based business which would add to the state’s already busy tourism sector. Customers would be able to watch the distilling process from the five-metre-long bar, which plans to have six taps.
The application is open for comment until September 3, through the Meander Valley Council.
