The units will be built at Janefield Street in Mowbray.
Eighteen new apartments will be built along with 16 additional independent living apartments. Most of the units will be one bedroom.
In a development application, lodged with the City of Launceston council, it said an earlier proposal was withdrawn.
The application is open for comment until Monday, September 3.
